چکیده
Objective: Atrial fibrillation (AF) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) are very common in daily clinical practice. Post-prandial AF episodes have been reported GERD patients. Although it was previous studies that caused by sympathovagal imbalance, there no on cardiac conduction system involvement. In this study, we aimed to evaluate whether the risk of developing increases untreated patients with non-invasive electrophysiological tests.
Methods: The research prospectively performed. Endoscopy performed individuals due complaints. ECG recorded at 25mm/s 10 mm/mV amplitude, 24-hour Holter (three-channel; V1, V2, V5) parameters were measured results analyzed.
Results: A total 120 individuals, 60 controls, included. No significant statistically differences existed between groups for hypertension, diabetes, smoking, or dyslipidemia (p>0.05). terms heart rate, Pmax, Pmin, QTd, QTcd, across two P-wave dispersion (Pd) substantially higher study group (p=0.014). Comparing rate variabilities recordings groups, standard deviation R-R intervals (SDNN) (p

Independent Effect of Digoxin in Preventing Atrial Fibrillation in High Risk Patients after CABG Surgery
Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the most common arrhythmias after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. AF can result in hemodynamic instability, thromboembolic events, increase the perioperative myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, stroke, more length of hospital stay (LOHS) and cost of treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the independent effect of...
متن کاملEffect of atrial fibrillation ablation on gastric motility: the atrial fibrillation gut study.
BACKGROUND Collateral damage to the vagal nerve and the upper gastrointestinal (UGI) system during atrial fibrillation ablation has not been systematically evaluated. METHODS AND RESULTS We performed a prospective, observational study assessing the effect of atrial fibrillation ablation on the function of the vagus nerve/UGI system. All patients underwent esophageal manometry, gastric emptyin...
متن کاملEffect of age on stroke prevention therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation: the atrial fibrillation investigators.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Stroke risk increases with age in patients who have nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. It is uncertain whether the efficacy of stroke prevention therapies in atrial fibrillation changes as patients age. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of age on the relative efficacy of oral anticoagulants (OAC) and antiplatelet (AP) therapy (including acetylsalicylic...

15 صفحه اولProtective effects of simvastatin on atrioventricular node during simulated experimental atrial fibrillation in vitro
Introduction: Recent evidence has indicated that statins can reduce the incidence of both supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias with various mechanisms. The primary goal of the present study was to determine direct protective role of simvastatin in modifying concealed conduction and the zone of concealment in a simulated model of atrial fibrillation (AF) in an isolated atrioventricula...
